I Predict a Riot

A new video from an artist that is slept on way more than he should be.
Hezekiah feat. Keziah and Eshon Burgundy-"I Predict a Riot"
BTW, if you haven't heard his CD, "I Predict a Riot".....you should.
He has a joint on there with Freeway that is quite ill, I'm sure it would do well on the radio or with any ROC heads at that....
He also got Bilal on a smooth, mellowed out track....fans of Bilal, here you go.
The production of the entire album is well formatted and his songs are unique AND catchy....picture that!!

Cop It!

Kevin Michael: Wants to be Iconic

Kevin Michael's debut CD should currently be getting play in your CD player, car stereo, or IPOD. His first effort is truly amazing to me. The only other R&B album released this year that I could listen to in it's entirety, all day long is Chrisette Michele's debut. Both bring back that mood in music that has been missing for sometime now. Below, his video for "It Don't Make Any Difference to Me" feat. Wyclef Jean

"All I Gotta do is Add a Little Lemon...."

Thank you DC for emailing me this track....new Erykah Badu for that azz, "Honey". The title explains the song's content, which is Erykah describing someone who's like honey, real sweet, her sugar, her little muse, her favorite drink....you get it. It has that Erykah Badu vibe, quite chill and at the same time, funky.

--first single off her new album, which drops in February of 2008

"People Still Think I'm Wack..."

Angie Martinez interviews Lupe Fiasco...he talks about the fiasco that followed his hip-hop honors performance, and how he DID NOT grow up on Midnight Marauders, he even dropped some knowledge about M&Ms (that some would probably want to know)...

The Fiasco HATERS of the world must be completely crushed to:
1. Find out that the whole 'choking out a girl' incident was completely false...(ahem)ALLHIPHOP.com
2. hear that Lupe and Q-tip are 'supercool'
3. know that he is in fact a cool ass dude

Boyz II Men: Motown, A Journey Through Hitsville

"Boyz II Men: Motown, A Journey Through Hitsville is a collection of Motown hit records that basically influenced music today...."

The former quartet, now a trio, have come together to reconfigure classic motown songs with a Boyz II Men spin. They have aimed not to reinvent any of the classics but to add on to them in their own unique way. Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, and Nathan Morris continue to carry on the legacy that is Boyz II Men and they do it with such heart and compassion. Check out the video below to get a better feel for what the album has to offer.

From the Life && Syle Files: Dare your hair....Take Risks

I was going through V Magazine's website...for my daily update on style and all that comes with it. I found an interview that they did with Redken for their Urban Experiment line. Check out the interview HERE. I think that their approach to 21st century hair care is amazing and their efforts to go beyond conformity is clearly displayed through their newly developed interactive website. They made it known that their agenda is not to simply display new hair styles....
"The focus is not about hair...but about lifestyles"
The Urban Experiment products are quoted to,
"Represent a fashion-forward trend and are more about personal expression than conventional style"
....and I can dig that. I checked out the site for myself and was completely stunned by their unique approach. I pulled the site up on my computer, the intro happened to be a wonderful display of individuals with obviously different styles posed and ready to guide consumers around the site. The big bold words, "Dare to Experiment", seemingly tease you, and "spin the bottle" adds to that temptation. So, I spin the bottle and it lands on one of the posed individuals. I am then directed to a screen that offers up a description of the dare that I am given (along with, "the hair for this dare"). #9, which is titled, give a mix CD to a stranger (and an amusing illustration accompanies it). It goes on to give a description of this dare, basically create a mix of music give it to someone random and let it be. They are then supposed to be longing for you, this person that "they're having a tough time remembering". I think it's genius. BTW, in case you are wondering what the hairstyle is that's supposed to go with this dare, long layered locks with enamel gel (which is one of their products).

There is my detailed account of the site...I checked it out for you, now it's your turn.

What Big Arms you have John....

I was about to roll up out of here...and then I come across this....
New John legend video for, "Another Again" from his album, "Once Again". Doesn't he look cut the hell up???!?!!?!

"The spotlights here can burn holes through the stage...."

Lupe Fiasco's new video featuring Matthew Santos on the Chorus, for "Superstar". He introduces the characters in here, The Game, The Streets, and The Cool of course. Can you spot them out?? I'll follow up with a detailed breakdown later....but just watch the video, directed by Hype Williams by the way (He takes on a different approach for this video, not your usual Hype Williams feel).

video from ONSMASH

From the WTF Files: I have 150 Orgasms a Day..Sometimes 200

I stumbled upon the story of Sarah Carmen, a 24 year old beautician from London who suffers from an illness that causes her to have 150-200 orgasms a day. Now while this might sound like heaven for some, it is an everday struggle for Sarah who developed the illness after she was prescribed anti-depressants at the age of 19, (and this is why, I believe that anti-depressants are worthless, go toke on some green-you'll feel better w/o the side effects). It's called Permanent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS), which increases blood flow to the sex organs resulting in her outrageous number of orgasms a day. She is stimulated by almost any vibration, loud noises, trains, and she works in a salon filled with hairdryers and beauty & skincare gadgets that vibrate all day long. Read her interview with News of the World below:

She explained: "Anything can set me off. Even the hairdryers cause funny pulsations through my body.

"As a skin care specialist I have to use tools which vibrate a lot of the time for micro-dermabrasion and they sometimes set me off.

"I find if I'm nervous I'm less likely to get over-excited. So sometimes I try to psyche myself up and worry to control my orgasms.

"Some of my regular customers know my problem. But with new clients it's hard to explain.

"I have been in the middle of a treatment and it's happened and I've had to carry on.

"I was doing a bikini wax and you have to really concentrate and keep your hands very still, and mine go a bit wobbly when I orgasm.

"I had to pretend I had cramp in my foot and just stood there wriggling around on the spot and stifling my moans until it was over."

Sarah's friends think she is the luckiest girl ever, although her family think her behaviour is sometimes slightly odd.

She said: "The best way to describe how I am when I am with my family and I have one of my 'moments' is that I behave like Sheila from Shameless.

"I just get a bid giddy and yelp out and try to control myself. I've never sat down and explained it to my mum and dad, it's just too weird.

"They just think I get a bit hyperactive round them.

"My friends think it's great. I have more orgasms in one day than most of them will probably have in a year.

"They say to me that they feel lucky if their boyfriend makes them have one orgasm-some days I have one every ten minutes."

It has proved to be a problem for Sarah in some relationships.

She said: "I dated one guy who was very selfish and he was that way in the bedroom too. He'd just lie back and expect me to please him.

"He just figured that because I could climax without him even having to touch me, he didn't need to do anything to please me.

"I just thought that was rude and inconsiderate. It didn't last very long with him."

She has also had embarrassing moments in public. Going to noisy bars and clubs is out of the question as the vibrations send her wild.

"We have to find nice quiet bars," she explained. "I have more orgasms if I have a drink as it relaxes me so I tend to drink very little now.

"It can be a bit embarrassing if I'm tipsy and guys who don't know me talk to me, because I find it harder to hide.

"The most embarrassing thing that has happened was when I answered a market research questionnaire and had an orgasm in front of the researcher.

"She knew what was happening and looked at me like I was a weirdo. I tried to explain that I couldn't help it, but I was blushing so much I had to walk away."

Sarah has even been to a Sex Addicts' Anonymous meeting in despair over her sex drive.

She said: "At first when the problem started I just wanted to have sex all the time, I thought I was a sex addict.

"But when I looked around the room and heard the stories other people told, about how desperate they were for sex, I realised I wasn't like them.

"With me, it was a means of releasing my orgasm, but now I know I don't have to have sex to do that."

Sarah has looked into the condition and believes it may have been triggered by her taking anti-depressants.

She said: "I've found studies that say that taking anti-depressants and then stopping has an effect on the sexual organs. That is the only thing that explains what happens to me.

"But I've heard of other girls who have the same problem and it just appears out of the blue. I've spoken to my doctor about it but she wasn't a great deal of help but that's mainly because there's very little known about it and no one yet knows how to cure it."

Thanks to her understanding friends and colleagues, Sarah feels like she can now live with PSAS.

She said: "I'm lucky because people around me are very kind and appreciate that sometimes this is a problem for me and it can be embarrassing.

"I need to concentrate on something sad or worrying when I talk to people and I don't want to get carried away."

During our 40-minute interview, Sarah told us she had five orgasms.

Years of dealing with the problem means that sometimes she can hide it quite well.

Her voice goes high pitched and she will lose her train of thought and have to stop talking completely for a few seconds. She says disguises this by coughing when she is in awkward situations.

"But it's also nice to have so much excitement every day! It's strange because it came from nowhere and I guess it could go away just as quickly, so I'm making the most of it while it lasts!"

Mama Clothing

Mama Clothing....a streetwear clothing line for women, founded by a woman (Gabriella A Davi-Khorasanee), who happens to collect LA Gears and loves military themed clothing,(think the Peace and War, hippie era of the world, mixed with streetwear graphics). Current TV aired a segment on the designer and her label, Mama Clothing. I found this woman interesting because she had a successful carrer in law and quit that work full time on her label and it's designs. Check out her site, watch the segment, and enjoy.

Surviving the Times

Another video to cure the Monday blues....Nas, "Surviving the Times". Off of his highly controversial album, "Nigger"....&& on that note, one of the first albums in history to use that word in it's album title:

"Superstar" is Here

According to the Child Rebel Soldier blog, "Superstar" will be premiering today via MTV2 and on MTV.com and MTVU.com all day. His video will be an unleashed video meaning it will play on MTV2 every hour on the hour. TRL will be premiering it tomorrow, Tuesday @ 3:30pm. So, that means voting for it to be on the countdown is necessary. You can also pre-order "The Cool" on Myspace.

INTERESTING HINTS:
--THERE MAY BE 18 TRACKS ON THE ALBUM
--SNOOP DOGG MIGHT BE MAKING A GUEST APPEARANCE

In about 6 weeks, the wait will be over. I'll have the album in my hands && there will either be a bit of disappointment due to the fact that I've hyped up the album so much that it wasn't able to meet my silly standards....or I won't be able to stop listening to "The Cool", which is the same effect that F&L had on me. I'm almost 100% sure that this album will be banged my car stereo with much anticipation to play it each time I hop into the bishi. Avid supporter, yes I am. Quality music, yes, it's coming.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Strikes Again

I saw this sweater again && I STILL have no idea as to who the designer/maker of this sweater is, so any leads would be awesome (mco0686@yahoo.com). I know it's linked to Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but who designs it? I'd like to learn a little bit more about the company if anything. It keeps popping up in pictures everywhere. Anyhoo, it looks great on her. By the way, this girl is a model/contestant in
Vmagazine's Supreme Management Model Search 2007. If you like what she's about vote for her.

Creative Technique Thursdays: Karl Lagerfeld

This week in art...I decided to sort of highlight the career of Karl Lagerfeld, a man that has become one of the most celebrated designers that this century has seen. I was going to do a full out post about this mysterious yet powerful force that is Lagerfeld but then that would just defeat the purpose of the documentary. They call this a, "groundbreaking feature documentary...an intimate and human portrait of one of the most enigmatic and iconic figures in the international fashion industry"

"I don't want to be real in other people's lives...I want to be an apparition."
