Independence Day has a New Meaning for Lil' Kim

While we all know the meaning of the Independence day that we celebrate, Ms. Kim will be celebrating an Independence day that's all her own. MSNBC reports that the rap mistress will indeed be home to celebrate July 4th with her family and friends. In fact, she will be coming home the day before on Monday, July 3rd. Miss Kim states:

“I am thrilled to be coming home,” I thank all my fans for all their letters, as well as my family and friends for all their support throughout the past 10 months.”

Lil' Kim, real name Kimberly Jones, has been serving her sentence in a Philly detention center since Sept. 19 2005. Her reason for early release is 'good behavior'. Now I'm happy that she made it through and got out early at that. i really believe that she is a good and genuine person. And Junior Mafia ain't S***!! I know She's going to hit the streets hard when she gets back on her feet. There's no knocking her off of her A-game, Lil' Kim is going to do her thing this year.

Is it just me or is J.Lo looking old? I don't know, but those baby rumors would make sense right about now. It seems out of her character to just look old, I mean no hair die?? I kind of forgot J.Lo was that old. It really just doesn't look like she's aging well.

I guess Britney felt the need to regain her public view of her. She wanted people to remember her sexy sultry side, sans the undone hair, and unflattering clothes. The dateline interview reportedly really got to Britney:

"She Felt Terrible. She didn’t understand her image problem until the negative feedback about Dateline. She pulled out her extensions and bought a bottle of dark hair dye” (calling her doctor first to ask if it was safe for her unborn child)

Britney informs everyone, “It’s vegetable dye and will wash right out". I guess she has to make everything she does known to the public before everyone starts bashing her again for being an unfit mother. I say F*** everyone Britney. Do your thing girl, you're human. Damn I feel like people need to get off her back. She's a normal person outside of pop stardom, she doesn't have to look like she just finished a photoshoot everytime we see her. You know all that is, is her being humble. I can't wait until Britney comes back strong. I bet everyone will forget about her so called, 'trailer trash looking' days.

In fact, Britney is in the process of working on some new material for next album. Singer/songwriter, Ne-Yo has been working with the pop princess:

For the past few years I've been wondering where the hell Sisqo has been. But he put my worries to rest when he resurfaced at JD's LG Fusic afterparty for the BET awards. Everything looked alright with him except for the fact that he looked sweaty. Oh and why did he have on that damn wave cap?! I won't be surprised to see him pop up with a new single somewhere in the near future.

Now of course everyone had something to say about the awards last night, well I know I do. BET needed to get it together on the sound. They messed up T.I's performance & Young Joc. And of course with Young Joc comes Diddy so you know he had something to say about it. I bet Diddy got whoever was working audio fired that night because he called them out. Now back to Young Joc, I personally didn't think he deserved to be there. That song was good for what it was worth and that was to be played in the clubs. It wasn't awards show material. Beyonce, Chris Brown, even T.I, they were performers worthy of showcasing themselves at the show. I bet Diddy was 99.9% of the reason why Joc GOT to perform. I really think that lately music has been dry. You can clearly see in the nominations(half of them were old as dirt songs). They just needed something in the category.. I just hope that next year BET gets it together.

Yup!.....Miss B did it again. She killed her performance. And she looked stunning as always. Her outfit was cute and Meli Mel loved her hair. Get it B!!!!! Her and Jay looked like the ultimate couple that night. Although I really think that BET was starving for good performers for that night, they hit the jackpot by getting Beyonce to take the stage. Was it just me or were the awards really dry???

The Unveiling of 'The Half Glove'

I've recently been seeing pics of Paris and her infamous 'Half Glove', and I've finally posted about it b/c I really do believe she's out to set yet another trend. I mean her trendsetting gimicks have become quite popular among the Hollywood A-listers. Wasn't she the first to uncover the nip slips and amatuer peepshows? And didn't everyone jump on the bandwagon, i.e Lindsay Lohan, and Toni Braxton (and that's just to name a few). I dont' know, heiress Hilton might just be on to something. What also leads me to believe that she is indeed trying to start a trend is that in every pic i've seen of it, she's had her hand up around her face apparently giving worldwide recognition to the 'HG'. I wouldnt' be surprised if it starts popping up on red carpets everywhere. I love the dress though.

Know while I knew all along that Jay-z's retirement bit was B.S, I didn't think he'd go all out as to start touring and possibly make another hip-hop album turned classic. He has done so much for the hip-hop game and everything he does will be remembered in its entirety. So it's no surprise that he has planned an International World Tour which includes stops at, Seoul, Beirut, Dubai, Johannesburg and Sydney. Now I'm sure those are only a few of many stops around the globe. Hmmm, I wonder if that Jay-Z & Beyonce break-up rumor is true. Return of Chappelle, The Lost Episodes

Remember when Dave Chappelle walked away from his $55 million dollar deal with Comedy Central. Well, his fans will have a last chance to see the few episodes that they did film. The Chappelle's Show will return on July 9, will a new alias, "The Lost Episodes". We will get to see exactly what we'll ultimately be missing. Two of the four sketches are about Dave's life after becoming a multimillionaire. A few things have changed like how Dave appears before his studio audience between each sketch. Donnell Rawlings and Charlie Murphy have taken his place during the small "wrap arounds" as they like to call those short segments. I know I thought Dave was crazy for letting $55 mil slip through his fingers, but at the same time I felt him. Showbiz is a lot of pressure, and some people just cannot take it. Although I'll miss that crazy ass show, I'm sure I'll see a lot of Dave in different projects.

So That's Why Nelly

If you were just as curious as I was to find out why Nelly Furtado's sound changed so much then you will be happy to take a look at what she had to say about it in Blender Magazine this month;

“I went through a feminist phase and read a lot of philosophical stuff. Some of the male bashing brainwashed me for a bit so I stopped. I love men!”

So with that being said, her 'I'm Like a Bird' days were merely a result of her being brainwashed by feminists. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I personally love the old Nelly to the new one. Don't get me wrong, I'm digging her new twist on things but I just like how unique she sounded before. That's why I didn't know that was her singing "Promiscuous Girl" for awhile, she sounds so completely different. I thought it was her going more commercial but I guess she put to rest my many nights of wondering why she changed so much. If you ask me she needs to get in touch with her feminist side again. Meanwhile, you should really pick up her new album "Loose", because despite the fact that she changed up her style, the album is really sick and deserves to be bumped at high volume in your car. I'm predicting this to be Nelly's year in music.

Farewell & Bye Bye Bye: JT & Diaz

Throughout the whole Justin & Cameron relationship, I rarely ever heard anything from the two. Yea they would get spotted here and there but they've pretty much been low key. I thought they kept their relationship underwraps for a reason, and that reason being to stay together. Well apparently, that wasn't the case. In the light of Justin's comeback into the music industry he is reportedly leaving Cameron out of the picture. A source said;

This is the man behind the music if you will. The founder, creator, designer of Bathing Apes. Yea we always see stars like Pharrell, Lil' Wayne, and even Chris Brown rocking so fly in the gear, but it's all thanks to Nigo. I must say I love his style and I see where it all stems from. I still believe that Japan is always one up in the fashion world. Now the question is, 'Can I endorse the line' Men Style recently did a bit on the 33 year old fashion designer. Here is the article:

Kate Bosworth Returns

I don't know about you, but I love Kate Bosworth, ever since I seen her in "Blue Crush". She's making her mark in an even bigger role this summer. She'll be lighting up the silver screen as Lois Lane in, "Superman Returns". Directed by Bryan Singer, the film is due out in theaters this summer. This will prove to be a breakthrough performance for her I'm sure.

MSNBC did an interview with Nick Cannon discussing everything from his wanting to use the "N" word, to sex tapes, to F***ing around on Christina Milian. I must say the little respect that I DID have for Nick, I lost, believe that. He is the epitome of a Dog, playa, poser, womanizer, wannabe, he just makes me sick:

Nick Cannon is furious that MTV has cleaned up his language.
“They won’t let me say the ‘N-word,’” the “Wild ‘N Out” star groused to Complex magazine. “I don’t like it because on Comedy Central Dave Chappelle says it. On ‘The Boondocks’ on Cartoon Network, they say it. And I think on MTV they’re giving that word too much respect. It’s a cultural thing. On my show I’m trying to represent my culture.”
In a wide-ranging interview, the actor/television producer/rapper talked about everything from his breakup with Christina Milian to rumors that there are sex tapes of him making the rounds. “I used to have a house in the Hollywood Hills when I was 19 [and on Nickelodeon],” he said regarding the alleged tapes. “It was me and Kenan Thompson from ‘Kenan and Kel.’ I know in my room I had the video cameras set up, and I don’t know what happened to a lot of those tapes. We were throwing parties every day. I had to move out of L.A. because I was too wrapped up in that scene. Regarding his breakup with his “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” co-star Milian, Cannon says: “I think she probably expected more from me than I was willing to give her, than I ever said I was going to give her. In the media, we were always saying we were friends, but technically we were probably more than that, and I took advantage of the situation more than I should have.”
When asked if he was caught cheating, he said, “I wasn’t hiding nothin’. When she did ask, ‘Were you hanging out with women?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ It wasn’t like, ‘You caught me!’ It was like, ‘I thought you knew.’ ”

Jessica Alba Venturing into Comedy

The "Into The Blue" star has just joined the cast for the Lionsgate comedy, "Good Luck Chuck". She will be starring opposite Dane Cook in the Film that is directed by Mark Helfrich. Her fans are use to seeing her in more action packed films like, "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City", than comedy. I can recall a comedy she did awhile back called, "Idle Hands" starring Devon Sawa, I don't remember any others but i'm hoping this film won't be a disappointment. The movie is along the lines of relationships and dating and womanizing until the main character Dane Cook finds his soulmate i.e Alba.
Alba is also currently filming, another comedy for Greenestreet Films called, "Bill", opposite Aaron Eckhart. There is also word that she will be starring in sequels to "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City". Looks like this may be Alba's year, what with her hosting the MTV Movie Awards and all. I personally love the girl and can't wait to see more of her work. And to add juice to the site name ROCKSOFLY, Jessica is doin the damn thing in that dress, "Rocking oh so Fly".....

M.C Opens Up Her Closet Doors

Let us take a look into Mariah Carey's closet since she revealed it to readers in In Style Home Spring 2006. Her closet space is very beautiful but why does her collection of shoes consist of gold and more gold. I really feel like she needs a better stylist, everything is so mundane. Let's not forget that infamous curve hugging dress that Mariah is notorious for wearing. She wear's it while walking her dog, at awards shows, parties, hell she probably sleeps in it. No but really she does have an extensive collection of clothes and shoes, she just doesn't really have a variety. Ok well maybe she does, I just don't see her in anything "out of her box". I know if I had the money Mariah had, you would see me in something new EVERYTIME you saw me. But her word for the day is VARIETY.

L.A.M.B is Rocking So Fly

I posted this because Sandra Bullock is rocking this dress from Gwen Stefani's clothing line L.A.M.B. It looks like something Gwen would wear. I haven't really seen anyone wearing L.A.M.B yet, but I am glad that in light of Gwen's new motherhood, she is finding success in her clothing line. So here's the story Dustin Diamond (er..Screech from Saved By The Bell) is supposedly about to lose his house. He was given 10 days to fork up $250,000 of get up out of his home. This is a result of his property value increasing because the land around his Wisconsin home was developed for the better. Why is it he can't get a loan you ask? Well, because he has "shitty credit". And this is all straight from the mouth of the once child star. Yes, he has created a a website where his supporters can purchase T-shirts for $15-$20, by doing this they are donating to his mortgage payment. These T-shirts simply state that you helped save Dustin's house. The story is much more detailed, he really did get F***** over by the government and so-called loan guru's. Check it out for yourself. It really is sad more than funny, although i did chuckle at first. I'd buy a T-shirt, but I would hope he would do the same for me of I ever needed it. Her'es the link:

Solange Knowles-Smith Bringing It on

I was looking through movie releases and what not, when I came across yet another "Bring it On". This time it's "Bring it On:All or Nothing". I didn't notice the face on the cover of the DVD until I enlarged the picture. I found that it is indeed Solange Knowles-Smith, in yes, another movie. Now this movie like "Bring It On Again", will be a straight to DVD movie slated for release on August 8, 2006. Solange plays a cheerleader, Camille, in the movie. You should also know that Rihanna will be making her movie debut in this movie as well, she will be playing herself as the cheerleaders are competing for a chance to be in her new video. This will be a different role for Solange, I'm kind of cuirous as to how good this one will be since the last one was in my opinion, nonsense, but who am I to judge. I just want to know why Bring It On isn't being released in the theaters anymore. I guess people can only take but so much from movies about Cheerleaders.

Alba host of MTV Movie Awards

The lovely Ms. Jessica Alba will be the host of this year's MTV Movie Awards. The awards show will air @9pm on Thursday June 8th. I'm psyched to see Christina Aguilera BACK on stage, she will be premiering her first single off of her album "Back To Basics". The song is entitled "Ain't No Other Man". I'm sure it'll please her listeners and fans. Gnarls Barkley will also be performing his new single "Crazy", which as a matter of fact, I happen to love. We'll see how the show turns out. There's always the MTV Music Awards.........peash ya'll
